Grand Junction Path

About

This proposed greenway runs alongside the existing tracks in the Grand Junction corridor from the Boston University Bridge to the planned extension of the Somerville Community Path (part of the Green line Extension). The two-mile corridor connects many neighborhoods, open spaces, institutions and businesses. A completed Grand Junction Path has the potential to improve public health, social equity and economic growth for surrounding communities.

Progress

In partnership with Friends of the Grand Junction Path, LivableStreets received a grant from the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority to explore gaps and produce design concepts to move the project forward. We collaborated with with Toole Design, the City of Cambridge, MIT and community stakeholders in the design process. LivableStreets continues to work with these stakeholders to make this vision a reality.
